I watched this recently. You might enjoy. I thought it was great:

There’s actually a severe shortage of engineers or anyone with training in STEM. I don’t have all the answers for the ‘high school roughnecks’ as you call them but I would think that it might be a good idea to at least entertain the idea of looking into automation as a career opportunity (at all levels) as opposed to

It’s not that silly. You’re assuming they’d all literally service robots. I’m sure there would be plenty of opportunities to be monitoring them, delivering them, building them, maintaining them. An entire industry built around them basically. Think of when cars first came out and the guys looking after horse drawn

The clever ones would be looking for new careers at manufacturing automation companies to use their experience to help implement these solutions maybe.

It’s probably a good time to look into getting training on how to service those robots maybe. Automation provides new opportunities in new careers to design, develop and services the new machines.

Sounds like with all of the injuries the workers have had to put up with that the robots would be welcomed.

I doubt he’s leaving RBR. He’s actually sort of tried this before twice in the past by trying to get more involved in the Americas Cup and also with another side project - Aston Martin. Each time this happened, the F1 team had a bad dip in performance and dragged Newey back into the operation full time. He doesn’t

Oh yeh I forgot that us Irish are thrilled that we can barely afford to run a Ford Focus diesel without feeling heavily pinched. Yep the good times are here. The TV tax coming up makes us feel very jolly indeed because extra revenues woohoo. I’m glad you reminded me of how happy we should be with all of our new taxes.

Plus they wont always be around so enjoy it while you can.

Baby boomer? I’ll be 36 in 2030 and still hopefully alive. I’m not sure what your own life expectancy is but maybe you should be less pessimistic.

So I have to be American to have this opinion? Are you SERIOUSLY that bloody dense and narrow minded? I asked the above question because something very similar happened here in IRELAND. Ireland isn’t the USA therefore I’m not American you retard.

3rd gear : So when 2030 rolls around and everyone is driving an EV and the cap and trade system is gone, what will the 2040 plan be to screw people next? They’re not going to give up that carbon tax revenue so easily so they’ll have to generate a new agenda. Any ideas on how they’ll do that? Limit where you can go in

Well of course if they develop the cars to be able to pass then it makes more sense but they’ll also have to change the limits on engines and tyres too. You can’t keep the existing limits on engines and tyres and expect them to race hard. Also, parc ferme rules will have to change. In other words, if they did this,

Keep it as it is. The cars don’t work well following each other and struggle to pass in a race so how on earth are they going to pass in a sprint race?

Would you prefer this or a high spec Accord 2.0T manual?

The Camry will sound better though.

Yep gotcha. In an ideal world I’d like both. I agree on the writing on the wall and honestly personally I love the instant torque of an EV etc. However, I would want to keep a gas V8 for fun times on weekends of something as long as they don’t legislate them off the roads. Best of both worlds then!

So just to think this through. The GT engine (the V8) has zero appeal? If so then why not get the ecoboost? To go from the gorgeous sound of a V8 to silence is a pretty drastic change to be blase about. That’s just how I see it I suppose. If the V8 meant nothing to me then I’d have gone for the ecoboost.

Can you be a shell fish vegan though!?
