I loved listening to Jim Hawthorne do LSU football as a kid. In fact, these days whenever I see an LSU football highlight on ESPN or something similar, I hold out hope that they'll use his call of the play.

No judgment from me re: Bloc Party. "A Weekend in the City" is underrated, and their "decline" is not nearly as steep as the hipsterati have deemed it to be. My friends probably would give me shit for getting happy when Bob Seger comes on the radio or jukebox, but then I get them to admit they like some of his songs.
