There would be backlash over blocking/throttling popular sites... People are all worried about Netflix and Facebook.... In reality a move like this would only solidify their positions and knock out competition before it has a chance to compete.

This is the real problem... I’m all about letting the market handle ISP behavior, but the market just doesn’t exist in some places.

Social media has the least to lose here... if you look around the world, I think you’ll find censorship is a tool of the government, not the private sector.
