I did... and I can tell you that six others in my car club bought Aston's with manual transmissions as well. All of us would be classified as "youngsters" and no we aren't trust fund kids, we all worked for it.

As an Aston owner, I absolutely agree that if it were up to me, this car would have a manual option. That being said, I don't believe that that would be in the spirit of the V12 Vantage S.

I'm really not sure where you are coming from with your statement and I believe you are misinformed about the average Aston owner. As an Aston owner I can tell you that my experience is quite the opposite. As an Aston owner, if I wanted attention wouldn't it be more eye popping to have purchased something Italian?
