That is the structure with the power and life support systems. Those where outside the pressure vessel and behind the aft titanium dome. That part was basically completely shielded from whatever happened to the cabin part of the hull.

It depends a lot on where that’s from; if it’s from a part of the submersible that was outside of the pressure vessel, then it wouldn’t have been subjected to the crushing from the implosion. But I agree that it is in suspiciously good shape to be a major part of the wreckage.

My primary rationale for an engine swap isn’t to put something unlikely under the hood. My list is HP, easy fitment, a big aftermarket and bullet proof reliability all of which are embodied in the LS.

I may be wrong, but how I read it is that the base model was originally going to be $40k and now it’s going to be $80k. But there will be a power priced fleet model for as low as $75k.
