If you aren't continuously paying attention to your surroundings, you aren't being safe. If you are at a stop light and change your field of view from the area around you to a bright 5" screen an arms length in front of your face, then you have effectively removed yourself from your surroundings.

So you shouldn't be paying attention while driving a vehicle unless you're physically moving? Situational awareness is not an option, it needs to be maintained at all times. Knowing what is happening around you makes you safer, no matter what your speed is at any given time.

Who knows, if Ford gets this aluminum business done right the first time around with the new F-150s, I don't see any reason that they can't shave 500-700 pounds from the next-gen Flex as well. That should free up some extra weight for batteries.
