I don’t have an opinion on Antonoff one way or the other, but I feel like a case can be made for Dessner without acting like Solar Power is being universally panned. As far as I can tell, a lot of the criticism is coming from people who are mad that it’s a “happier” album than Melodrama, which, sorry that you’re still

Chemtrails is acknowledged as an album of leftovers. Comparing it to more intentional albums is a false premise in the context of an article like this. Of course NFR’s b-sides are going to be worse than NFR.

This article is forgetting that Antonoff also produced large parts of the wildly acclaimed predecessors to Solar Power and COTCC, Melodrama and Norman Fucking Rockwell. I’m not saying he’s perfect or that I’m a huge fan, but clearly there’s a reason why these artists want to work with him, and the idea that he’s some

Yeah but not a spaceship

Buddy, they don’t even let me fuck the Wookiee.

absolutely one of the best shows on tv

My family discovered it during quarantine and fell in love. Somehow, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood became a deadpan comedy, but remained just as sweetly sincere.

I had never heard of this show or this guy before now, but after watching a few episodes, I’m addicted.  The gentleness of Joe Pera’s deadpan humor scratches me right where I itch.

Honestly, my mistake. I quickly read your comment and thought it was coming from Scottsummers76, the sarcasm is very clear to me now lol my bad.

That Dune trailer was powerful and majestic. I’m not even a dune fan, and that trailer stuck with me. The use of Pink Floyd as a choir cover was ingenious.

I saw Hamilton live in Chicago (I live in NYC but getting tickets here was IMPOSSIBLE so I bought tickets for me and my folks, who live in Chicago), and that whole cast was outstanding. I’ve listened to the original Broadway recording too many times to have any other version in my head, but I will say that I was not

I don’t understand why they needed to have a bad guy at all. It’s so discordant with the main storyline between Russell and Carl.

As a few other people have mentioned it here, MGM doesn’t own its Golden Age library (WarnerMedia does). And they’re not even a studio in the common acception, at least not since the release of the first Hot Tub Time Machine in 2010.

Have you tried The Sun Also Rises? Worth it.

Also - the character can just be Scottish! Like, it doesn’t drastically change the movie if Mike is a Scottish dude instead of an American. It’s two lines of dialogue.

The new Drive by Truckers single is some prime cut Patterson Hood. Catchy tune with caustic lyrics. Looking forward to the full LP.

That’s a simplistic understanding of history, and I think the assumption that Trump hasn’t committed crimes against humanity is odd.

I’ll add that I think this is the rare week when Dennis doesn’t go far enough to criticize the politics: Che’s ‘Trump may be a better president George Washington’ bit was a smirking, South Park-ian ‘all politicians are bad so everything sux’ bit, one that’s in line with a lot of Che’s political stuff.

Well....wait? Pretty much in complete agreement with you!

Brave felt like two completely different movies smashed together. The first half is wildly different than the second.
