As much as there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, wild game is about as ethical as it gets in my books. It doesn’t require wrecking wilderness to create farm land, cruelty to the animal, exploitative labour practices, or anything like that.

Exactly my thoughts. It doesn’t affect the ending of the books anymore than Hook did in my opinion. It shows the how people grow up, they lose sight of what’s really important, and a piece of their childhood comes back to spark that child-like wonder and spark of life. It’s like finding something from your childhood…
