Can’t understand why they changed it up. They could have easily spun the first ‘arc’ out to an entire season of juicy MMO goodness.

Thinking on it, i suppose its kind of a problem with all parties involved and no real answer. The only way to break out of it would be to take the next Civ game in a completely different direction. But most fans of any long-running series don’t always want that. They want the same game they had before but ‘better’.
The biggest problem with it, I feel, is that its no better or worse than vanilla Civ 5. Which isn’t a bad place to be except Civ 5, after all its expansions, is a much heavier beasty and going from Civ 5 to CBE just feels like a a downgrade, even if they are technically 2 different series.

Same boat. The mechanics of New Vegas are better but they phoned in a hell of a lot of the map/quests. What hurts is there are at least a handful of epic locales/quests that far surpass anything FO3 managed.
