Nah, its totally me, man. I won’t, can’t, deny there improvements small and large above and beyond 1080/60... it really is more a matter of me personally no longer caring above that.

Mainly because it always seemed to add another layer of minor, random problems to pc gaming. One day it would just be stuttering, another it just plain wouldnt work. Waiting for support is always fun.

Yeah, but I like to future proof as well... a Titan X should last me a couple of generations at least with ultra performances at 1080p.

Yeah, SLI has been suggested more than once but i’m not a great fan of that configuration, tbh. Too much heat, occasional glitchiness and slightly delayed release-support would wind me up rotten.

I’ve same tell from other first Titan buyers. On the flip side, i’ve also heard tell the first Titan was caught on the hop tech wise resulting in it being quickly outdated, even moreso than the usual lifecycle of these things. I am very tempted to stick with the 980 but its my birthday treat and money is no object…

oh gawd. That does it. Was gonna buy a new PC with a GTX980 this week as my birthday present but I think i’m gonna wait and get something beefier...maybe a Titan X.

I think the ‘costs’ point he makes is a bit disingenous. They’re playing the long game. Sure they’re making peanuts now but as the saying goes, a dollar here, a dollar there, pretty soon you’re making real money.

I got a massive FPS, and I do mean massive, boost to my GTX780 simply by turning off GTA’s Vsync option and going to Nvidia control panel and changing the GTA’s profile so that it forces Vsync there and the ‘power management’ is set to ‘maximum performance’.
