Ghostbusters was one of the few movies I really enjoyed last year. It seriously pissed me off that it got trashed on social media, by those stupid manbabies.

It was honestly one of my favorite movies of the year. Like Guardians of the Galaxy and a bunch of movies from the actual 80's, it was FUN. It had the same tone- the mixture of subtle and slapstick humor with just enough horror element- as the original Ghostbusters, and paid just the right degree of tribute while…
Well ... as someone said upthread - make sure your tickets are marked Black Panther tickets. I guess I’m not the only one who’s seen majority-POC movies mismarked so the “minority population leads don’t make money” faux-argument is easier to make at the studios the next time a director who knows receipts count wants…
There was one of the famous gamergate guys online who insisted it was evolution that men should ghosbust and women should run etsy stores.
Oy, they did that shit with Ghostbusters, If it’s not specifically for white men the manbabies get their pull-ups all in a twist. It’s not like everything in the whole fucking planet isn’t already theirs but God forbid one little thing isn’t for them, they pitch a fit. I’ve met tougher toddlers. Damn.
That’s deliberate. It’s why Rethuglicans figut so to gut public education. Unquestioning obedience to authoritarian evil requires ignorance.
These people actually believe this garbage, and then they wonder why we are on a one track course to the destabilization of this country. And they wonder why I have no sympathy for them.
“What about these lies I’m telling in a weak attempt to get you to submit to meeeee! I’m white! I have the right to do whatever I want to whomever I want! Stop telling me my actions have consequences!”
Yeah they only had standards this time because they didn’t want to risk being sued by Disney.
And nothing says “facist dictatorship” like punishing, insulting and assaulting those that don’t.
As much as I loathed PE, I don’t use that little homily because it insults all the brilliant and hardworking teachers I know. And I know a few, having come from an family full of educators.
Nothing says land of the free and brave like making children stand for a stupid “pledge” or else...

I think it’s a hard thing to balance. There are young actors out there who had good experiences, and who seem really grateful to their parents for allowing them to follow their passions (thinking of Emma Watson and Mara Wilson).
No, it wasn’t an abuse of power. At worst, it was an error in judgement on his part. He did not tell her to do anything she wouldn/couldn’t do in real life. If you have a driver’s license, you should be able to operate a vehicle at 40 mph.
His foot fetish is weird, at least to me, but can you explain how it constitutes sexual abuse?
Filming feet in a movie is not sexual misconduct, it’s not like he forces the actresses to do nude scenes against their will.
Foot fetish = sexual harassment? Uum, ok....
Where’s the sexual harassment by Tarantino and what exactly constitutes abuse of power? Telling an actress she should drive a car at 40 mph? If that is abuse of power which should bring him down, most directors, male and female, would be out of work.
It’s the cleanest place in earth. There’s no litter because people don’t buy a snack and eat it while waking down the street then need a place to dispose of the wrapper. You eat at the store, or you wait until you’re back at your home/office/whatever.
