I'm just now able to respond, I've been very busy today. I wanted to thank you for your post; it is very thoughtful and insightful.

I'm late to this conversation, but as a 55 year old woman I agree 100% with everything you've said. Fortunately I'm still married to the man I married at 21, and if he dies before I do, I cannot imagine having to even think about shaving or waxing my pubic region just in order to not freak out some man, so I would

Thank you for bringing up the subject of women who just loooove to do everything for their man at first and who are then not happy when the man expects that to continue forever. I've seen this over and over with people in my life.

Well, for those of us who have probably never even heard the word "mall" in 1972, and whose only clothing store for miles was a Roses (dept. store), I was very happy to buy from the Sears catalog. I'm a couple of years older than his mother would be now, and I'd still get totally freaked out at the chance to meet and touch Prince Harry. He is a hottie.

You don't think that changing an un-sexy character to a sexy character "sublimates the character"? Because that's what those changes do - they make her sexy, like all Disney princesses are for some awful reason.

I'm 55 and I do remember being 15 way back in 1973.

Your story is similar to mine. I'm years old. For a lot of my adulthood I've been a runner, usually running distance. When I run I usually eat healthy most of the time, but I certainly indulge quite a bit in fun food. Without the extra food I don't have the stamina for distance. When I stop running, I gain weight -
