This is the same thing that put me off on Final Fantasy 8 on Steam, it required a square enix account to login, and would not, in any way let you play the game without doing that. For the love of everything unholy I hope ff8 remaster doesnt force you to do this.

Its possible that in how it reads the save data and see’s what wrong data and just cant read it properly. yeah, youd get less refunded in a class action than you would a full refund from nintendo, so even if you signed away your class action youd still get the better end of the deal in my opinion.
