As far as i know this shouldnt be the case, you should still be able to play your xbox one games with gold games even if you let your subscription lapse, you cant go online with such games obviously but you should still own them.

Yeah it does, it means you can buy a game now that literally cant be played, at least for me. Because I would ONLY play in TV out, so if I didnt catch it was non dock only i would go home, with my switch in the dock, swap games sit down with my pro controller or whatever and try to launch it only to get an error…
