It's less of a problem with planned multiplayer sessions in a pre-determined group. Although, I've been on some very organised Team Fortress 2 servers where there is a whole lot of misogyny, racism and homophobia.

Meanwhile, I fired up a game of SimCity 2000 last night. It worked perfectly, no need to deal with server issues, and the maximum size of the town is a whole lot larger than what is offered in the new game.
There's also the other factor... most people need a PC anyway.
When I think "mature" games, I think of games with old-school, unforgiving mechanics. Like 2D platformers and hardcore strategy games.
