Don't wait too long, kids. I was waiting for a 6-speed W8 Passat to depreciate. Now I can't friggin' find one.

@jodark: Let me recommend this: don't use reverse, at least if you've got a car with a Tremec/Borg-Warner T5. The previous owner of my project car apparently attempted this. Reverse? She no work so good anymore.

Pipe for tastelessness. It looks like it's going as a slutty 7-series for Halloween.

So, they couldn't sell the car for three years at $20K, and decided what they needed to do was raise the price!? Perplexing. Especially because at $15K this car becomes, if not compelling, at least interesting.

Malaise pack, anyone?

Unlike yesterday's Firebird, this is a craptastically built, embarrassingly unstylish 90's GM hoonmoobile I enthusiastically endorse. Nice price!

Crack.

Just because I don't want to be the 56th person to say "LSx", I'll go with my secret engine crush: VW's little-produced W8. To make the crankshaft work, it had to end up with a firing order like a flat-plane V8's. But it also had to have big counterweights, like a classic cross-plane V8. End result? A motor that

@the_garynator: No kidding on the S13. That was the last 240 sold here, and the later facelifted ones are really nice looking. But I spent about a year trying to track one down that wasn't riced to death or the victim of a poorly executed engine swap.

@jedchev: 82-92 Trans Am/Camaro. As people become nostalgic for the 80's and the mullet makes a big comeback, these cars are going to come back. The IROC Z, GTA and Turbo Trans Ams are already too much. I would look for a 87 and up Formula 350 or an 82 Recaro Edition with the bowling ball hubcaps.

Sometimes, I get steak. It's delicious.

The Ruf CTR, or Yellowbird.

@cgarison: You may have a point there. Are those iron heads? Vettes should have bare aluminum heads, I think. Also, I don't think those headers are exactly stock. The odd thing is, if they'd sold the TPI and the aluminum '113 casting heads, they'd have had enough money to rebuild their 350 and toss on a carb.

@pauljones: For God's sake, people, it's NOT a friggin' Automatic! It actually is a 5-speed, which did have a very narrow, tight pattern. Automatic NSX's have a tall shifter with a button on the side, and no shift boot.

Now playing

That was much less shocking than Top Gear's Scirocco advert (which everyone has seen by now but I've included anyway).

Silly Canadians! If you'd used a Superbird instead of a 'Cuda and a driver with bigger balls, you could have won!

"the number of desirable older Japanese cars sold in the U.S. can pretty much be counted on one's fingers- S2000, NSX, Fairlady, Miata, RX-7, WRX, Evo. . . and from Toyota, the 2000GT, Supra and Corolla. 2000GT, Supra and. . . Corolla?"

Oh my. The dark blue Alfa under the cover...so sexy. What model is that?
