That's part of why I don't understand it. The conversation is all the same: "I don't like coffee." "Well, have you tried making it taste like something else?"

It's just about finding a type you like. I personally only drink coffee in the morning and if I'm still a bit tired (or just have a craving for coffee, which is rare). Step daughter had Leukemia. You have LEGAL recourse to get all the time off you need and it forces your employer to not even think of trying to fire you. Cash in the 401K and take a leave of absence, that one is the option I jump to in a heartbeat.

You assume people have enough sick days to cover that. Using vacation time for illnesses isn't uncommon, especially if it is to take care of someone else.
