Sometimes it feels like all the people that choose not to have children are exactly the people I wish raised more children.

I love this, too! My parents divorced last year, and my mom (and I!) got so sick of people telling her that even if my dad was a jerk, she should still be grateful that he was willing to work so hard all those years (he's a workaholic) to put food on the table. Fuck that. He couldn't have held his job, which required

Attorney with a stay-at-home husband here. A few thoughts:

Can I just be a stay-at-home mother to my cats? That's a career I could totally get behind.

I dunno...I get super excited for people when they get good news (vicarious happiness ftw), but imagining the lead up to this photo, I get where she's coming from. It is a bit too twee, and all the "omg, you got engaged over thanksgiving too?!? Omg, we should like, take a picture with alllll our sorority sisters to

To answer your question, watch BBC's Sherlock. Great show, and Cumberbatch is just plain captivating in the role. You'll be able to then understand why he has a following.

How would you not lose it if Magneto/Gandalf and Prof. X/Capt. Jean-Luc Picard showed up to carve your turkey...and I think I'm only about 40% geek.

OOOOHHH YAY! A British person! We will all now explain Thanksgiving to you, because that will be most awesome!

Me personally? I would get super passive aggressive about it. Bring it up casually with other members of the family but don't mention your mothers refusal. Talk about the cases of babies dying and how worried you are about the upcoming birth. Make it uncomfortable. At least you'll be able to laugh later. ;p

honestly, if your mom isn't gonna get vaccinated, then for the sake of your child, you have to ban her from your child's life until you do. Sucks I know, but Whooping cough can kill, and if your mother can't understand that, she should lose grandma privileges until she gets it, or the kid is old enough to get

Kanye's coming out of the back of Bloomingdale's—I know those cobble stones and cream doors anywhere. Not to mention the saleswoman in the background. It looks like Kim is on a completely different street, based on the sidewalk in her pic. Plus, the van is super close to the curb in Kim's photo, and it looks like

Yeah, a coworker's wife was actually raving about Kang and how she's an inspiration and like her (said coworker's wife is extremely fit after two kids), and we (the other women in the office) should emulate Kang.

But I think most unhealthily overweight people are not so poor that they can't afford real food.

I think a core lack of understanding on behalf of Kang is that obesity in this country is heavily (haha) tied to socioeconomic status. Being healthy in this county is expensive. Knowing how to cook a well rounded meal and how to circuit train is something of a luxury to grow up knowing.
When you have little money and

I loved Catching Fire. Loved the first one, but this one was vastly better.

I am surprised by the combo of ridiculous FB things they share - pro marijuana, anti obama? anti vaccine, pro gun? they sound like a fun bunch!!

Ever worked in a predominantly male blue collar job?

I have, for the past 21 years.

A lot of guys in jobs like that prefer to work with men, and really resent women coming into their little all male world.

I'm going to leave this here in solidarity.

This will be a productive conversation that ends well.

She is almost as bad as her husband, who wants people to have health care!
