Honestly, even on a bad team it would be hard to take a stand. Which is why this is amazing. Playing college sports takes dedication and in some cases flat out love to play the sport. Walking away even for a minute is a big deal.

The larger question in all of this is why did it take so long to unravel? West Point doesn’t offer scholarships to begin with. Once you are accepted - that’s it, you’re in and the cost is free. This should have been investigated and revealed by the publisher of his book and the media at large decades ago.
