Have you ever watched the show? The characters are equally important to the show. If Anderson had said “F*** you. Go do it without me.” There is no way the revival would have taken place. If it’s about star power, then why did they not do it without her? Surely, Duchovny could have carried the show. Right?

She missed one episode, “3", due to her pregnancy. But yes, “3" also happened to be the worst episode of the season. Duchovny couldn’t carry the episode.

The ratings were already dropping before Duchovny left. I’d argue that if it had been reversed and Anderson left after season 8, that a Scully less X-Files would have done as poorly as a Mulder less one. It’s the duo people watch and love.

I liked the episode. I kept guessing who was going to die besides Deanna. I thought it was to throw off the really big death. Regardless of the end, I was wound tight the entire time thinking a favorite was going to die so that’s a win for me.

I love shorter seasons. I’ve never had so many consistently great shows with consistently great episodes to watch.
