1. That was my first thought, but at the end it says he has a great record with trickier cases. Unless he’s somehow faking entire medical histories, that theory seems really unlikely.
Based on what little we know from the article, two speculation points spring to mind, and I have no idea what I’m talking about, so bear that in mind:
1. He was manipulating the data so that he’d only have to implant into people most likely to survive, boosting his professional rep.

It is a long standing tradition to manipulate your patient's data to make them more eligible and move them up the list, but this is a new one to me.
