IMO the Wii was a trend so a lot of casuals players and families bought it. Now its no longer a trend so the Wii U is no longer enticing to the most of the Wii owners. I know several families who owns a Wii and they are no longer playing it, why? because tablet and mobile gaming is the new trend.
