Beauty and the Beast by Jean Cocteau 1947. Fantasy and magic that has never been equaled.

Leaving aside the highly questionable score, The Last Unicorn has gravitas, beauty and a sense of the tragic.

Hellboy directed by Guillermo del Toro. His world-building is great - very immersive and fantastical.

I mean, c'mon...

One of the best fantasy movies all the way around. You just jump into it and the story takes you.

It introduces the concept of string theory and makes being smart cool. Plus, just a great read.

Got to add Stephen Chow's KUNG FU HUSTLE to this list.
