If Microsoft has a Kinect booth at an expo, it is their responsibility to build out their booth so that the Kinect can work properly. It'd be entirely Microsoft's fault if they set it up at an expo, failed to account for the busy surroundings, and then Kinect didn't function. However, is there even an expo going on

He's working with a Microsoft rep, so it's safe to assume that the setting and lighting were controlled. This isn't stated explicitly in the article but I get the feeling that this was done at some sort of Microsoft press event.

Android has more devices but far lower user engagement. That is, lots of Android users bought their phone just to be a phone, and never buy apps or browse the web. (Or, they give up on the features after a few months and just revert to using it as a phone most of the time.) Most iPhone users actually use the

Good idea! I hear OS updates on Android are totally smooth and seamless, no hitches whatsoever. /s

Not what I'd call "dirt cheap" for a 3(?) year old game.

Exactly. You're getting the eyes from the scan with no special shaders on them, so it looks like a mask. The final product will almost certainly replace these eyes with much more detailed versions which can look around, and which use shiny/glossy shaders to look wet.

Not that I've seen. Mario Galaxy 2 is ≥ $25 used on Amazon right now, for instance.

Thirded. Another Galaxy is what it would take to get me into the Wii U camp. I was so disappointed when they announced 3D World instead. Bad move, fellas.

I don't have insider information, but it is safe to assume that a few of their most creative guys have already locked down the high-level DLC story/design and have moved on to the next project, while the DLC has now entered full production. Otherwise, after the DLC ships, they would have a large crew with absolutely

They're starting a new project now, and in the early stages of a project you simply need fewer people. You can't go into full production until you know exactly what you're making. Right now I presume they're doing concept art, initial character design, level treatments, story pitches, etc.

Well, I think the DSi was the first model to contain an e-Shop and allow games to be downloaded. The DS had wi-fi connectivity, but without any significant internal storage, there would be nowhere to save the downloaded games to.

Did the same thing with original Worms. Man that was a blast.

In Plants vs Zombies, the idea of "redoing levels" is basically all in your head, isn't it? Every level is essentially the same, just with different backdrops, slightly different patterns of which zombies come out when, and variations in obstacle placement. When you are replaying to get the three stars for a level,

Right now it is iOS only. I don't think any ports have been announced, but given the successful launch I would expect it's only a matter of time.

My iPhone and iPad synced without any effort on my part. I installed it on the iPad after playing a few levels on iPhone, and it just worked the first time.

Skylanders wasn't too bad. The prices were reasonable and the new characters were a lot of fun. The kids really do play with the toys sometimes without turning on the game, and "breaking" one is nearly impossible—sure, you could snap off an arm or a head, but the RFID chip inside is not going to be affected.

Eventually the developer tools will stop supporting these sorts of older devices and then developers will simply move on. The Touch 4th gen is almost there today. It's not worth buying a device right as it sunsets into obsolescence.

I wouldn't get anything less than a iPod Touch 5th generation unless you're okay with buying a device that already can't play some iOS games, probably won't get iOS 7, and within a year or two will be largely unable to get new titles. A 5th gen is going to be relevant for a long time, though—it has the new screen

As a parent, I would think if you're OK with your kids playing The Last of Us, 1-800 numbers that lead to phone sex lines are the least of your concerns. That game is nightmare city. If your kids are old enough to handle the story content, they already know about phone sex lines!
