Yeah, Barry subverted many tropes, but Bill Hader himself couldn’t subvert the “comedian gets a prestige comedy show but decides later on that he wants Hollywood to see him as a serious artiste’ and a ‘filmmaker’ instead of a comedian” trope. From top of my head, Louis CK, Donald Glover, Aziz Ansari all made shows

You pick the one character they didn’t know what to do with...lol.

I’ve just read several definitions of “auteur”, and it just seems to refer to directors that make movies that are personal. I too thought it was a compliment, maybe because people who use the term do erroneously use it that way, in the same way people get “ironic” wrong.

Shaggy and Scooby?

The point of a sitcom is to be inviting and fun. A realistically troubled family with an abusive dad is definitely not that. They could reduce him to a recurring role, but now your sitcom lacks a father character.

I get it. Sometimes, when I am feeling intellectually inferior, I pick on easy targets too and argue with people who don’t know what they are talking about and/or are likely children on the other end. You’ve chosen to argue with people who are defending Hasan Minhaj and not the arguments he’s made in his video. In

Did you actually watch his video? New Yorker did take things out of context to create a certain narrative.

Its not strictly stand up comedy. It combines elements of one-man shows/plays, it’s more emotional and has anecdotes that demonstrate the racism he has faced. You should watch the show to understand why some people might feel betrayed.

Aliens in America and Outsourced were both likely pitched as “people think Apu from The Simpsons is funny. Why not have an entire show be that?”

Not terrible at all, but “one of the greatest superhero movies ever made”?

one of the greatest superhero movies ever made”, so, it's right up there with The Dark Knight and the Spider-verse movies, apparently.

I mean, most of them aren’t too successful or too good for this project, especially since Edgar Wright is involved. And Chris Evans and Brie Larson didn’t wanna look like complete assholes for being the only ones who said “no”.

He also said The Flash was the best superhero movies he’s ever seen...

The truth is somewhere in the middle. He is altruistic but it’s not his primary goal. And he does benefit from it. And, he is still an ambitious and obsessed Youtuber who wants to have one of the most popular channels and in his own words “make the best Youtube videos ever”. And this is how he presents himself. There

What am I missing?

Same for Kraven. We got two months and 8 days left until October 6th. Shouldn’t they be in post-production by now?

He is just trying to prove to his kids that it’s nothing personal; he is just bad at naming everything.

Sans Lasso. You’re welcome.

Yeah, as far as his actual movies go, you could argue when was the last time he really had a good one, but as far as star power and relevance goes, he was pretty big in as late as 2019 when Aladin came out.
