I’ll just mention that the Whalestoe Letters (included in the appendix) are almost as much a masterpiece as the book itself. They were haunting enough to get republished on their own.

Moiraine would scold you for calling her kesiera magical. It’s an aid to concentration and a holdover from her being a noble born Cairhienin.

I approve the new look (though why bother with the bare midriff I'm not sure) but it is this background bit that sours me a bit. Not to mention the focus placed on her looks by the background characters.

I enjoyed the refresher on Dragon Age: Origins and general DA lore. I was less a fan of the DA2 bashing. While Origins was definitely the deeper game the story still felt like a more traditional fantasy plot. However, I rather enjoyed the story in DA2 more. Yeah, I felt the same way regarding the ending. The whole novel felt like oscillated between social commentary and thriller/horror without either element merging into a complete whole. I definitely enjoyed my time with it but it just felt like something was missing.

I can't seem to confirm this anywhere by my understanding was that the Night's Watch exists outside any feudal authority. Their allegiance is to their Oath not to any king. I took Jon's statement literally: the Night's Watch has no king.

I'm pretty sure Marvel, not Warner Bros/DC, owns the Ultraverse since Marvel purchased Malibu comics around 1994.
