Anecdotal evidence but I am a woman who takes Via pretty much all the time (I have a ViaPass). 80% of the other rideshare riders are women. It costs me an extra $50 a month this way but it’s so much better than the subway.

I tend to share instead. I take most of the increase and sock it away but keep 20% of the increase and tack it on to my take home so it still feels like a bit of a raise.
