Depends on what she sold last year which I will be able to tell you guys when I get into the office.

As someone who gets monthly statements from our distributor, I run a small indie label, all of the streaming payouts are horrible.
Give me about an hour or two. When I get into the office I will pull soundscan and tell you how many albums she has sold over the past 12 months.
Yeah no. Also, Big Machine is an indie label.
Gerald, please clarify the story. The Time Magazine article clearly states that the LABEL only received half a million from Spotify, not that they paid her 500K:
Nope, from the Time Magazine article:
Over such a high profile fight I can't imagine Big Machine is lying about what they've received. On the other hand Spotify doesn't say "We've paid her 6 million in the past 12 months." they are saying if she maintains this current rate of play we'll pay her 6 million dollars this year. That said, it's likely…
No, that is the amount THE LABEL received. Not what the label paid her. From the Time Magazine article:

Some of the best street artists of our day, cluding Banksy & D*Face, have been doing this for years...
I'd be careful on future recommendations on Spigen. They botched some of their new cases and no joke have to send a sticker out to get the volume buttons to work correctly on the phone:
"Earlier this year BitTorrent announced that the free bundle promoting Moby's latest album Innocents, had been downloaded some 9 million times. From there, 150,000 people clicked through to the album on iTunes. Though unfortunately BitTorrent told me they don't know how many of those clickthroughs bought anything."
Thank you for succinctly making this argument. I was arguing the other day that U2 were assholes for doing the Apple free album. Not because it was beamed on to everyones iDevices without permission but because this devalues music. Not every band will have some mega corporation offer them a check paying for their…
You can do the same via tunecore less iTunes 18% or for almost nothing via bandcamp. If you don't think Bitttorrent takes a piece of the proceeds you're sorely mistaken.
I actually posted what apple charges and can't get out of the greys on that one. On a .99 download the net is .71 so they take 18 cents. Far from the 40% mentioned above.
iTunes does not take 40%. On a .99 download the takeaway is .71.
Artisan smartphones now? Really?
Meh, just get a Neato. It laser maps the area to be cleaned. No app but you can definitely use it's scheduling function.
That's a little close for comfort.
