For what this camera costs you can afford a variety of better cameras plus a spare or two in case you break the first one. Of course you lose intangibles like cache, the ability to flaunt wealth and a lack of common sense.

You seem to be grossly oversimplifying the challenges here.

The only way I see China invading Taiwan is if they suffered true economic collapse. In such a scenario they’d do what most countries do, try to distract an suffering, frustrated population by rallying them behind a grand cause.

What does electing a woman have to do with democracy? We should be voting for the best individual for the job, regardless of gender or race.

The name has to go, but this actually looks pretty neat. It feels a lot more approachable than the overstyled monstrosity that is the new Prius.

Good. It’s pretty annoying when a developer can’t be bothered to produce a decent icon.

It seems that as any new technology matures people find ways to overuse it. This reminds me of all the goofy junk from previous decades we now laugh at.

This is going to be the big obstacle to self-driving cars. Even if they’re orders of magnitude safer than humans the instant accidents occur the media will stoke fears about their supposed danger.

I didn’t think FitBits were so expensive that they warranted counterfeits.

These sponsored car sets from Lego haven’t been very good. They look like the real car in only the vaguest sense. I also can’t stand stickers being used as headlights.

If California didn’t have perpetually beautiful weather and fantastic scenery it almost definitely would have turned into the state equivalent of Detroit long ago. It also helps that California is closer to Asia than the rest of the continental United States.

It’s not bad, but it’s more Cadillac than Acura. And the rear looks unfinished.

SUVs are getting more popular overseas, although they’re typically smaller than what most people get here. In Europe, particularly, I’d say a CR-V is on the larger side.

It looks like an Infiniti with a nicely integrated body kit. Not bad, but not particularly compelling to me either. The headlights scream Audi, and I bet the two will be confused at night. That bulge in the c-pillar, however, looks atrocious. It seems to exist solely to be different and establish some relationship

It’s a pity they don’t make adapters for other phones considering that there are several out there with better cameras than the iPhone.

As far as I’m concerned, univerisities have no reason to be in the sports business. Decouple sports from universities, establish an under-21 league and pay players accordingly. Certainly, conditions could be established to allow, and maybe even encourage, continuing education but colleges should have no say in it at

I think it’s very telling that the press, who’s usually ignorant about all things automotive and awed by shiny things, is dubious about Faraday Future.

This is standard fare for luxury brands. Cheesiness is a fact of life when you’re trying that hard to be ostentatious.

Ford really has a thing for photographing cars from that perspective where the camera is practically sitting on the floor. I know it’s their trademark, but I wish they’d stop doing that because it’s really not flattering to the cars at all.

That DigiScent thing is so fucking ugly. The late 1990s to early 2000s were a scourge for product design. Companies figured out how to mold products into more complex shapes so they started designing these scalloped blobs. Then they went and covered everything in that frosted silver shit.
