I suspect EA’s rationale is “The hardcore Madden players already bought it before/during the NFL season, maybe if we put it on GamePass we can get a few casuals hooked, sell some MUT packs and convince them to buy the new one in the fall.

Do less.

NFT's "solve" a problem that doesn't exist.

I live in the Bay Area. That guy’s full of shit. Teslas are like 3% of cars on the road here at most. I see way more Priuses every day than I see Teslas.

I live in the Bay Area (the epicenter of the Tesla cult) and even here like 3% of cars on the road are Teslas, at best.

I live in the Bay Area, which is the center of the Tesla bubble, and even here the % of cars I see that are Teslas is like 3% tops.

I live in the Bay Area and I would estimate that maybe 2-3% of the cars I see here are Teslas.

“Nearly every car is a Tesla”

That's Scabby, a big inflatable rat that unions put up at picket lines to let people know the employer is using scab replacement workers.

You just gotta accept death in those situations.

Pretty much. European monarchs realized that having a bunch of knights hanging around with no other job prospects was a recipe for disaster, so they sent them all to the middle east to give them something to do....... Jesus Christ, history really does repeat itself.

Shit, I’m an older Millenial and I’M too old to enlist in the military anymore. There are people in the “Nintendo Generation” who literally have grandchildren now.

LOL seriously. If the “Nintendo generation” exists, it would be Gen X, all of whom are well past combat age by now. Shit, I’m an elder Millenial and I’M too old to join the military.

The original Nintendo was released in the US in 1985. There are people in the “Nintendo generation” old enough to have GRANDCHILDREN now.

My 73-year old mother asked me the other day to explain the appeal of TikTok. I told her “I’m 38, mom. I'm not in touch with youth culture anymore. TikTok is just as confusing to me as it is to you."

When they reach middle age, older people develop one stereotype about younger people and then stick with it forever. This dude probably thinks Gen Z kids watch MTV and listen to grunge.

Not a chance. EA’s primary value lies in it’s exclusive sports league license agreements - which they would lose if Nintendo tried to make those games console-exclusive.

Destiny still pulls in almost $200m in revenue per year.

I actually found Destiny 2's monetization / game economy to be fairly balanced and reasonable compared to most other live service games. You can enjoy most of the game's content without spending real money or grinding for like 30 hours a week.

At least a hundred million per year, easily. Destiny 2 is a live service game that makes money the same Fortnite or Apex Legends does: selling content expansions, season passes, in-game items & cosmetics, etc. to existing players. Bungie doesn’t have any plans to make a new Destiny sequel for at least another five
