Unless he'd been arrested for something like this in the past, there's nothing for the company to "vet". How exactly do you think vetting works?

I feel like all media has been trending this way for awhile. Movie cinematic universes, mobile games, social media..... no one just makes entertainment intended to be enjoyed for it’s own sake anymore. Everything, even the stuff we pay full price for, is just a promotional vehicle for something else.
A bad algorithm at that. This statement is like a bad parody of meaningless PR gobbledygook.
It’s time for a new studio to enter this genre. The current EA/Activision FPS duopoly has made both of them lazy and complacent. A third party needs to start their own competing mil-sim FPS game.
It’s kind of pathetic how seriously some gamers take their hobby. Imagine having so little of importance in your your life that learning of a release delay in a game you were looking forward to is enough to send you into a murderous rage spiral.
LOL I love when people/companies make these bullshit non-apologies that use passive verbs. As though the fuckup was a freak act of nature that just sorta happened, rather than a series of deliberate decisions that THEY consciously made over an extended period of time.
I appreciate the intent of this quote, but it’s a little outdated/inaccurate. There have been a number of games with horrible launches that eventually became great over time after content additions and bug fixes. No Man’s Sky is a prominent example.
100%. Lucas’s constant meddling with the Star Wars OT would have been fine with me if he’d also let the original versions remain in circulation so viewers had a choice. But instead he vaulted them and said “NO! THIS IS THE ONLY VERSION NOW! YOU WILL SIT THERE AND WATCH THE ENTIRE ’JEDI ROCKS’ MUSICAL NUMBER AND YOU…
It’s sad because Rockstar used to be the one studio that made sure their games were always finished, polished, and basically bug-free on day 1. Even if it meant delaying the release date for months or years, they didn’t release something until it was ready. I know they farmed this remaster out to another studio but…
LOL, no you haven’t. The mere existence of an NFT doesn’t prevent people from stealing or reproducing the art associated with it. It merely establishes official ownership - which is something pirates, by definition, do not care about.
NFT’s do not and cannot solve the problem of IP theft/piracy because they don’t actually create scarcity. NFT’s merely provide a certificate of legitimate ownership of the work, which is something consumers of pirated art inherently don’t give a shit about. They just want to enjoy the work itself - the NFT certificate…
What cryptobros have never understood is that 99% of people prefer security to anonymity. People WANT their financial transactions to be traceable, reversible, and reportable, because it helps protect them from theft and fraud. If somebody steals your banking password and empties your accounts, there’s a digital trail…
Making a perfect copy of the Mona Lisa is actually incredibly difficult and time consuming. It’s not a photograph that you can just scan and re-print. It’s a 500 year old oil painting on wood. It has very particular colors, brush strokes, texture, pigment aging, etc. that simply can’t be replicated by even the most…
I too am a huge cryptocurrency skeptic, but at lease cryptocurrencies have some theoretical value as a convenient (and relatively liquid) medium of exchange. NFTs are just digital collectors items. Their uniqueness means the pool of interested buyers is inherently small, and that makes them difficult to sell.
People ruined the internet. Lowtax was a piece of shit but the idea that he is the reason the internet is the way it is today is laughable and vastly overstates the man’s level of importance. SomethingAwful is a niche site with a cult following that has had a modest influence on certain facets of internet and meme…
I’m not a perfect person but I’ve never beat my wife, abused my child or stolen money from my family. That alone makes me a better person than Lowtax was.
It's not the fact that he killed himself so much as the way he did it - liquidating his children's inheritance just to spite his wife one last time. The guy was an asshole to the bitter end.
Seriously. On top of all the other terrible shit he did in life, his final act before killing himself was to deliberately piss away his children’s inheritance just to spite their mom one last time. Lowtax was not a good person.
I didn't really frequent the SA forums but I was a huge fan of the "Your Band Sucks" music review series. Hilarious stuff.
Seriously. When I think about the kind of dude I was at that age, I shudder with embarrassment. I’m so glad social media didn't exist during that phase of my life.
