What beta? They seem to roll out these changes without much thought or testing at all.

Even worse is when you click in your notifications to see a reply to your comment. But Then you have to scroll UP, to find the show comments button, scroll back down to find your comment, and then look for the new reply, which is not highlighted in any way, even though you just clicked the notification for it.
