I was driving around Deal's Gap where sometimes cell service is nil. With Google maps on my iPhone, it didn't tell me street names when approaching a turn and I had no signal, but it still kept me on route.

With Waze you can send a link to someone that allows them to follow your route. it only takes a few seconds to do.
