I'm conflicted. I love the art style, Drinkbox is consistently good and hearing Yamantaka // Sonic Titan in a trailer is pretty awesome. But the actual gameplay isn't doing much for me.

The whole album the music is from is pretty great. I highly recommend it (spotify link is below).

So much awesome 4X stuff these days. I just bought Age of Wonder 3, probably gonna get Warlock 2 (quite liked the first one), Gal Civ 3 is on the horizon and now this!
I'm long overdue for another game of Civ 5 or Endless Space as well.
That second song really is perfect for the character. I'm glad to see so many people on here mention it as a highlight, it's quite understated so I was worried people would overlook it.
The Dark Souls games just have great music in general.
The the majula theme is great, the menu music in DS2 is amazing and Vendricks theme is perfect for him (just the right combination of sad and unsettling).
Those are just the ones that stuck with me enough to name off the top of my head, all the music is great.
It really is. I loved it when the Maiden in Black did it back in demons souls as well. It's very humanizing somehow (although the human part is probably a misnomer).
I was already planning on playing as Wii Fit Trainer, but finding out she's a sunbro seals the deal.
Haha, he was talking about Dragon Quest VII not FFVII (poor Dragon Quest always gets overlooked because of Final Fantasy).
The DQ7 remake has been out in Japan for over a year and SE hasn't bothered to bring it over to us, because they are jerks.
Uh is there a way to give twitter a generally time frame that you are interested in? I spent ages working my way back to the right time, then twitter made me lose my position and I died inside a little.
More importantly I did manage to properly skim the relevant time frame before I lost my position and I can't find…
I think you are right about Demons Souls. Almost all the bosses in that game were crazy inventive. I miss the bosses that were also sort of puzzles, I felt brilliant when I realized how to take advantage of the Old Heroes Blindness. Maybe it's my nostalgia talking but it feels like you need to be more creative to beat…
Sure you lost 100,000 souls but at least you got a good story out of it!
Personally I loved those horrible high stakes situations, but I never lost a giant pile of souls at the bottom of blight town. That might have pushed me over the edge.
The worst thing that ever happened to me was losing a massive amount of souls…
Glad to hear you like it Tina! You should check out the previous Souls games now that you are done with DS2, they are all great.
You make a good point. There should be more discussion of the abuse she is getting and my post isn't helping that.
Unfortunately calling it fucked up is about the best I can do right now. I haven't moved passed the knee-jerk revulsion stage so I haven't gotten around to collecting my thoughts on it properly.
Interestingly enough Colbert did specifically tell people to stop harassing Suey on last nights show.
This sort of stuff is a very small part of the game. I always play online and I have never encountered a troll. In fact if you aren't actively looking for PvP there seems to be very little of it.
It's probably closer to Geometry Wars. The game just keeps throwing stuff at you until you can't keep up, then you go back change your plane design and do it all over again.
Vlambeer released a free prototype version of the game ages ago that should give you a good feeling for the game.

That's pretty much my plan as well. I think I can hold out on the PC version till it starts going on steam sale, so it won't be too bad.
Honestly I'm kinda worried about this game. It looks very Skyrim-ish, which is not what I'm looking for in a Bioware RPG. Furthermore there aren't a lot of developers that can execute something of that scale and ambition properly.
If they pull off what they are trying to do it will be really cool, but I'm still sad…
Yeah, it's real easy to tell yourself you could use your free time for something "productive" if you ditched your hobby, but actually doing it is quite different.
If you have a demanding job there is really only so much time you can commit to things you don't find relaxing.
For example I'm trying to teach myself a…
