Never understood what that "eyes follow you around the room" was about. Paintings are 2D so there's really no perspective effect.

Not much to find within five light years. I think the three stars of Alpha Centauri are the only ones less than 5 ly away. And I'm not sure a system with multiple stars would be all that inviting.

Godlike heroes are boring - they don't even have to be good (well, better than Hancock from the first half of the movie, but still...) at their job.
