Those are all available in “like new condition” if you look for them...

I wonder what the oldest new car sold was? This must be up there. So many questions - was the dealer paying finance costs on that thing for the last 8 years? Why didn’t it sell in 2017, 2018... like what were they asking? What did it eventually sell for? Who bought it?

Hey, I’ll settle for a new Chevy Volt or Impala, Ford Taurus or Chrysler 200 (with the V-6) if I can find one. I’ll take the risks with deterioration.

We also have 6000 lb SUVs traveling at 60 MPH on 6 lane roadways in front of local suburban shopping centers. The mass exitance of local shopping centers with high speed, multi-lane roads between them really messes with us.

False. It takes 2.3 seconds to say “split tailgate”. Meanwhile, the average transaction time for a new Expedition is 5.9 hours.

If they brought over the 500e with the rag top “Convertible” to the US I would really consider buying one. I think the market is open to a electric convertible. My thinking is if anything Mini might beat them to it with a Mini Electric Convertible here in the US.

Agreed. I’ve owned two Fiat 500s, currently have an Abarth. I also have 2 EVs in my household.

I own a gas 500, I DO want an EV, but I don’t want an electric 500 for $32k. I’m waiting for the next gen Mini Electric or next gen Chevy Bolt to fill my needs, though if the Fiat gets cheaper and more range by then I would consider it.

I like FIATs

civil rights we fought and died for surrendered for a hamburger’s taxi ride.

Fond memories of my Eagle Talon...

Hmm, have you heard of the 5th gen 4Runner? It is like your old 4Runner in every way just new and, depending on your definition of ancient, possibly the same car.

Nissan’s dealers are killing the company. I had a 2004 Xterra which was a great, bare-bones vehicle. Owned some other cars in between, and in 2018 put Nissan on the list of cars to look at with my wife. The dealers we visited were so smarmy that my wife was categorically turned off by them. (I didn’t love the vehicle o

Nissan is the next Mitsubishi. Boring, forgettable cars that will soon be nothing more than rental fleet fodder.

Self inflicted wound. They let innovation and design language stagnate to the point they became irrelevant. They threw good vehicles in the bin (Maxima, Q50, Q70) because they did not want to invest in making them better. They dropped a whole segment of the market. This could have been avoided, but they assumed good

As frequently as Hyundais and Kias get stolen, have recalls or engine failures, I’m surprised they’re doing as well as they are too.

Definitely weight.  As for temp I’d guess they have metallurgy to determine the best trade off of weight vs temp resistance vs reliability.  The mission on the surface was only supposed to last for two years but was extended.  The design lasted 6X longer than expected, pretty good.

This is either a “come on” for sexting or a NP. With Craigslist, who knows? Buy it before it disappears.

That would be a hell of a bargain here in Ohio, much less in California - NP all day long...

That price around here is getting you something with see-through rocker panels...

This is exactly the kind of truck my dad would have looked for as a shop truck back in the day. Cheap, simple, and you’re not going to get upset when it gets beat up. Use it until it won’t pass inspection anymore, rinse and repeat.  NP.
