Seeing the direction other, existing (multiplayer) shooters are heading, I'm very willing to be surprised - and like it.
It's a matter of faith for me. I lost all faith in EA and the franchises they handle. I am wary of other publishers. Destiny, to me, is important. I want to believe, so I bought into it. Do I believe the hype? Nope. But I still like to think that it will be awesome fun.
It was actually rather fun!
