You’re supposed to be within sight and monitoring the car at all times, which means you could have walked to it in the time it took you to fumble with your phone and also means you shouldn’t ever be using it if you forgot where you parked.

Useful applications of this seem to be limited to helping the someone with a disability, and moving a vehicle from a charger to an empty spot (assuming a human or robot unplugs it first).
