How is it possible that "dead" is disrespectful? Bob Hoskins is dead. It's not disrespectful to say that, it's a simple statement of status.

"The Law is reason free from passion" Aristole. (Yes, this was in Legally Blonde. I can't do anything about that.)

So tell it. Calling her "the victim" and posting a photo and a lurid description of her death doesn't commemorate her. She was a young woman. If you want to pay tribute to her, tell her story.

Maybe if we called the death penalty "late late term abortions" more conservatives would be against it?

It started with Simon&Garfunkel with me and then reached a high-point with Graceland!

I was totally in love with Paul Simon when I was an angsty teenager, obsessed with his music and he was probably around 60 then. So I would have totally pro-created with him when he was 50 and I was 22. It's not all about looks.

Donald Glover did a great bit about this exact predicament. The gist of it was that while a lot of guys have somewhat amusing/outlandish stories about "crazy girlfriends", women do not have the same sort of stories, because "IF YOU HAVE A CRAZY BOYFRIEND, YOU GONNA DIE".

Marget Atwood once recalled that when she asked a male friend why men feel threatened by women, he answered, "They are afraid women will laugh at them." When she asked a group of women why they feel threatened by men, they said, "We're afraid of being killed."

First time commenting on Jez (yay! Hi to all the people whose comments I've been admiring!)

One sad thing about this (not the saddest thing, but sad) is that Joan Rivers, at 80, is still REALLY fucking funny. She can do a whole hell of a lot better than this.

But the joke wasn't at the expense of the victims. It was a self-depricating joke about her living conditions. Her living conditions were so terrible, that they were like those of the victims. You can say it wasn't funny, but to say that her attempt at a joke trivializes the plight of the victims is just stupid. The

This is the kind of long form investigative journalism that is missing in today's news climate. (kidding.) (not kidding.) (but seriously this was great!)
