The casting is kind of cool, but... Is this really a story that can be updated? It's so much a product of 70s era nostalgia for the 30s (which you have to admit was kinda weird)

It's a modern take on it, right? I haven't been paying much attention because the only musical I hate more than Annie is Grease, so yeah. If they're setting it in the 1930s, no, it wouldn't make sense, because a black mayor in NYC wouldn't make sense. But if it's in modern times, I can understand. Still don't see why

My sister just texted me "Hi darl, thinking of your face," so thanks for this. Thanks very very much.

You know, I honestly don't think Conan would have been as popular as Jimmy. I mean he hit a 20 year viewership high in his first two weeks of hosting.

Am I the only one who doesn't find this show the least bit funny?

I maintain that these songs played by kindergarden instruments are really just proof at how good of musicians The Roots really are. Anyone who can get a great rendition of a song out of a 3 year old's xylophone and a kazoo deserves major props.

Re Joan Rivers and Miss Piggy: It's sad to see former co-workers and good friends arguing this way.

Yeah, it totally broke my heart. In a good way!

OK, look. Here's why it's important for people like JK Rowling to keep writing: they make publishers money, which publishers use — in turn — to pay midlist authors (like Lynn Shepard!) their advances. The JK Rowlings of the publishing world keep money circulating in publishing. They give new writers a chance. That's

Hey, I liked the Casual Vacancy. A lot. I didn't read it obsessively like I did with the Harry Potter books, but it was a hell of a lot better than most contemporary adult fiction.

I liked The Casual Vacancy and The Cuckoo's Calling. The adult characters were always the strongest, most complex parts of the Potter books, and I'm glad her (I think) well-written character's vices and problems can grow beyond the kiddie and YA worlds now that I'm an adult. So yeah, this lady can suck it.

YAY!!!

In a choice between breastmilk and formula, there are no bad choices, just good options.

I dare not look. But I cannot turn away.

Right here with you!

Yes, this will be completely civil. No doubt about it.

Study finds good parents raise better healthier children.

I'm looking forward to a calm and polite discussion about this. Articles about breastfeeding, birthing, and child-rearing bring out the best in everyone.
