I don't really understand the aversion to the piercing gun either. I've got 3 holes in one ear and 4 in the other, all done by a gun, and all perfectly fine piercings. I actually wouldn't ever get a piercing that required a needle instead of a gun.

RE: Hurricane Sandy- The way I see it is that he handled it the way any good governor would. If he'd handled it differently, I can't say I would have been surprised, but he did the right thing. He doesn't get a cookie (or a free pass on all the other bad shit he's done) for doing his job.

I know! I was really surprised by the pediatrician thing as well. I got mine done for $12 at a place literally called Piercing Pagoda when I was 13.
