“I like nations that don’t have tragic events, okay?”
We’re going to get four years of Trump looking completely awkward, out of place and utterly out of his depth in the White House.
Just physically blockade them in with our bodies and collective sadness?
Like, what if we make it physically impossible to exit the White House? There’s gotta be something in the Constitution that we can “interpret” to make that legally sound.
So, so somber. Just heartbreaking.
And I noticed that there was no back story with that photos. Just a straight description. No subtlety at all.
I’m married to a photographer and spend a lot of time saying things like “I know you don’t like how you framed it but it’s still a really striking shot” and “I get that the bounce flash didn’t do what you wanted it to but this one still turned out fantastic” etc. In return, of course, he swears up and down he can’t…
All I could think was that next year if Will and Kate let him in, George and Charlotte will run screaming away from Trump.
Those were exactly my feelings. The staffer on the right who looked like she was holding back tears got me right in the gut. And that next photo of the president with Trump made me want to throw my monitor out the window. I thought I’d moved past the anger phase. Not yet.
That picture of the WH staff the day after the election had me sobbing - their faces ... and then the next pic of Obama with DJT made me rage. How is this about to be our life?
Pres. Obama did a LOT (Iran, Cuba, 3.7% economic growth) in his second term, and he did it walking straight into a freezing cold north wind.
I can legally marry my partner now. That’s substantial to our family.
I mean, now that I see the table, I am pissed at the table, too.
It honestly cracks me up how often he does that. So many of his captions are self-deprecating/frustrated. “Yes, I know this photo is iconic and everything, but that god damn table...”
I’m trying to drum up a plan were millions of us travel to the White House on January 20th, and we all throw ourselves around Obama’s legs and cry and beg him not to leave. I think this would work, and might be constitutionally sound.
Part of what makes Obama such a good person is his ability to look for, and often find, common ground between people who disagree. This character trait allowed him to convince both conservatives and liberals that he was sympathetic to their points of view when he headed the Harvard Law Review. It also led to his…
I can’t look at pictures of any of the Obamas without getting choked up. Oh, this was a proud time.
He did more than any president since LBJ in strengthening and adding to the social safety net. Unfortunately, it’s all about to be unraveled.
