I go the other way and just let everyone know in advance I’m going to call them Blake.
Campaign metrics. Not election results. I’m talking ground game, money raised, money spent, ad buys, favorability differential, winning every debate, etc.
that’s what gets me - this is super dangerous FOR THEM! They aren’t just callous about others safety they seem to literally not care about their own safety one bit. I generally expect the worst out of people...but that usually comes with a massive side of selfish behavior.
The ones who slow and go around can do so if there is no oncoming traffic. They cut off a lane on a two lane road. traffic goes in both directions. on ice and snow if you don’t stop rolling you are fine, if you have to make a complete stop because of oncoming traffic than your screwed. Thats why the first cars were in…
Problem is not so much that some people are driving too fast... Some are. It’s that those accidents could have been avoided, had that comcast asshole realized that things are not going according to the manual. Not only that, but when told about the dangers about the whole situation, he basically told the guy begging…
sooooooooooo, no one thought to call the cops about a situation where peoples lives are in danger? .....
you do realize there were two school buses in the video, right?
Come on, after the first two slide-offs behind their trucks, they most definitely SHOULD have had the common sense to put out more cones - the guy was getting in the bucket. If their truck got rear ended by something big, he would sure as hell be hurting or dead. Someone pointing out that they still have more cones…
The pragmatic view of this is that it doesn’t matter if the 5 drivers made a mistake or not, the solution was too easy to implement not to. Put cones close to the crest of the hill. The city would have probably had a cautionary (men at work etc.) sign before the work area. The dic-head-move is to see the accidents and…
Some blame, ok. But two wrongs don’t make a right. You think first responders would put up 4 cones as well and shrug their shoulders when cars keep flying into the ditch? And Joe Schmoe would take up a lane instead of pulling off the side?
I partially agree with you, but a school bus is bright yellow with brighter and more apparent flashing lights that are higher up. People also expect them to stop. As for the Comcast trucks, they’re white, with some flashing lights that are low and partially hidden.
There’s definitely blame to be shared (the whole not driving faster than you can react thing) but the Comcast guys are most definitely not using their cones effectively. Instead of putting their “5 cones” within about 60 feet of the truck, they should be extended back to the crest of the hill or at least close to it…
I’ll repeat the comments other people already mentioned in other comments about the speed people are driving. Most of us are pretty sure that they were going around 30 over the hill, so not too fast, and the road before the hill may have been more clear.
I don’t know where this is filmed, but where I live we HAVE to put some form of warning on the uphill/crest of a hill if we are working on the downhill side of it IN DRY CONDITIONS. Even if it wasn’t required, I would flat refuse to work on a crew who was led by a cheif that did not do this. It is safty 101 for the…
Some blame can be placed on the motorists who are going too fast (which could be even going the normal speed limit) only in this scenario. But the ones driving below the normal speed limit due to weather conditions who STILL slid out are not at fault here.
Agreed! Also, it continues to be painful that people shrug off Trumps’s multiple Putin-linked advisors, cabinet picks, and debts, as bizarre “conspiracy theories”. Hillary Clinton running a child sex ring out of a pizza parlor seems perfectly reasonable to them, though.
What you say in public can be radically different from what you’re doing, or what you’ve got up your sleeve. I don’t blame them if they all decide to chill on a beach somewhere with umbrella drinks, but I hope they take up guardian angel/patron saint duties here and there and help us out now and then.
Anyone else deeply disappointed by the lack of outcry from POTUS or Clinton? I get the “high road” argument, but I can’t fathom Trump’s administration being more destructive with its cabinet nominees, foreign policy moves, etc. Surely POTUS or Clinton could align themselves with the Republicans speaking out about the…
