I don't understand why they don't simply decide to fly these until their airframes are worn out, then either rectify them or cannibalize them.

A-10 is apparently much more survivable than SU-25… though successful ejection in IS territory is probably not all that survivable. You are correct to point out recent SU-25 losses in Ukraine (5 and counting). Iraqi’s are using SU-25 in the current conflict, but no reported crashes or shoot downs.

Because the AF prefers flying high and fast to low and slow. They've been trying to replace the A-10 with F-16s for 25 years. The solution would have been to transfer the A-10s to Army aviation, but the AF insists on their owning all fixed wing CAS.

It's the other way around. A cam is a simple device that is difficult to fail. If you go camless and there is a single fault, you will have valves colliding with pistons. And what's the failsafe? If such a system fails, there is no backup like there is with multiair (which defaults back to normal cam operation)-

I should say that I have no idea where exactly to get all the parts. Am I going to be on eBay for the next few days? Is there a site that stocks this shit? Can I take the train out to the Autozone in the South Bronx and get everything?

You mentioned that Israel arrested 100 Palestinians and bulldozed homes while they only arrested 6 Israelis. Isn't this heavy-handed ness the reason the death tolls are lob-sided? Perhaps they're unbalanced simply because Israel wants them to be, for whatever reason.

Going to jail? no sir...You're going to...

I've said it for months, you could not pay me enough money to go to Sochi for the Olympics. This does not look like it is going to be a safe event.

Wait, that pimp Loki drives a Jag???

No

If you take the pilots out, you also get to remove the ejection seats, human-centric instrumentation and control systems, life support, voice radios...it all adds up to a lot of weight and volume in an airframe where weight and volume are the enemy of performance.

I don't understand people who go to the Olive Garden when there are so many similarly priced but infinitely tastier mom and pop Italian restaurants in northern NJ. Probably not much healthier, but way more worth the occasional caloric splurge than what you'd get at OG.

Sophie stood at the foot of what was once the Parliament House as smoke rose from its hulking remains. She opened her lungs to the smell of charred wood, asphalt, and flesh and grinned.
