I know this is crazy talk, but we could just have a new Star Trek TV show.

Wait... JJ is scared of pissing off fans by making changes to a beloved film franchise? Where did this sudden reverence for a film's history suddenly pop up?
I highly doubt I'm alone in thinking this. And I KNOW I'm not the first to say it, but:
Hey, that gives him 3 seasons to become a series regular. After that, Syfy will cancel the show without ceremony even if it's a huge success anyway.
I grew up on Tom Baker when I lived in the UK in the early 80s. When I moved back to the US, I stopped watching until this Doctor came to BBC America, and fell right back into it full force. When he left, I stopped watching. I tried, I just couldn't get into the next guy.
Almost Human suffered from poor marketing, a delayed premiere date and Fox airing the episodes out of order. The adventures of John and Dorian were only just beginning!
Did anyone else see Fraser Cain and initially think of this gentleman?
That he's able to speak about his failings, let alone that he is aware of them at all, makes me respect him so much more.

We just can't have nice things.
Indeed. The talk is that all the studios are looking for their own mega-franchise to compete with the MCU. Meanwhile Paramount has one, it's called Star Trek, and they have no clue what to do with it.
Yeah...it was sure no Gilligan's Planet.
Product placement doesn't bother me until the show or movie I'm watching tries to insert the product into it's dialogue and it becomes a commercial.
