OK so I see now that it's like just an AWD Model S but my first reaction was 'Man I hope it's a Model S wagon'. No idea what the D would stand for, but maybe Desirable?

Amazing! A gentleman's Lambo :) Any interior shots yet, apart from the renderings we saw earlier? Engine bay?

The front kinda looks like the little brother of a Nissan GTR from a Fifth Element type future. I like it! I hope VAG makes more of the fact that they bought Ducati. How about sticking this engine in s stripped out Up for an Up GTI? I'd love to race that around the streets of small southern European cities ;)

It looks a bit understeery for a WRC car. But I guess it's still a prototype so they can sort that out...

See, the base price for the M3 is $62,000. In my ideal spec, which I've refined since we did our "how you'd option it" post, my M3 would be just $67,475. For a car with this level of performance and involvement, that's a steal. It's a perfect "only car." Kids need to go to school? M3. Track day? M3. Grocery store? M3.

Nice! I'm going too, albeit only on Saturday. Treated myself to Paddock Passes :) Am hoping to finally use this opportunity to make a worthwhile blog post. Where are you gonna be? Would always be fun to share a classy Goodwood drink with a fellow Jalop ;)

And her poor wheels had to pay for her stupidity (see at 4:30). That literally hurts to watch.

I strongly doubt this was on the Autobahn. It would'nt have a speedo in mph (and I am talking about the actual analog one) if sold in Europe unless it was destined for the UK which is unlikely seeing as it is clearly left hand drive. Unless he took it from the US to Germany for a test drive. Not saying impossible.

... or this one. Really, I'm not picky.

A reincarnation of the original BMW 328 Mille Miglia. I'd be fine with this one...

Blindingly horrible...

I think nobody should underestimate the, albeit temporary, fixing power of duct tape on cars. A few years back, under circumstances I don't wish to discuss, I managed to bump the front on my car in just the right place and with just the right amount of force that the front bumper fell down and the bonnet wouldn't

Yeah they built an orange 2002 tii. That was actually an ongoing project when I was there. They did parts of that rebuilt in a glass box/workshop near the museum for people to watch. You can watch the whole project (with awful commentary and unrelated and strange music) in this video.

I interned at the BMW equivalent (Mobile Tradition) for a summer a while back and the work that these internal heritage operations do is awesome. Obviously the really old stuff is truly amazing (just to sit in a 328 mille miglia touring coupe was worth the shitty pay) but even the newer restaurations end up far better

Season 17, Episode 4. It's on Netflix...

I still think this is the only way to do this in style

It seems pretty purposeful. If you actually click through the next few pictures you can see the little topolino pull out behind the streetview car and follow it for the next 4 or 5 shots. I bet if they didn't blur out faces you could actually see the driver's smirk.
