Yes, but a contestant has no obligation to the viewer, only to himself. And his technique is common in championship Jeopardy! This is much ado about nothing. Nobody is really angry about this.

I like Justified but it goes for long stretches where its fucking boring. For a better example of roguish lawman who bends the rules you should check out Banshee on cinemax, surprisingly badass show.
