That did cross my mind. I assumed that the operating cost per hour for the ISS is so, um, astronomical (as is the opportunity cost of experiments that could be performed, but are not) that playtime is verboten, except for space tourists. But, if it kept him from going postal in that tiny space, I guess it was worth it.

I've made some comments in replies up the thread that I won't repeat here, except to write that it is also possible that discomfort about speaking in public could be neither irrational nor a clinical problem. It may simply be a capability that is not part of a person's personality.
