I've had a love hate relationship with Joan Rivers for years. I respect her because she carved out a career in comedy during the years when women comics were as plentiful as wooly mammoths strutting around Times Square. She found her niche in being an insult comedian and she was, I don't want to say cutting edge,

The documentary "Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work" is quite illuminating. I don't agree with her humour a lot of the time, but I respect her as a hard working woman who made it into the boy's club and stirred up shit. I just wish she'd stop doing the body-snarking, transphobic bullshit and stick to what she's good at:

If AA used this photo to promote their brand knowing it was from the Challenger disaster, of course I'd find that tasteless, too. Not sure I'd be offended, but I can understand why somebody else might be.

I'm not American and have never seen this image before (although being Canadian, I've at least heard of the disaster). Given that the poster was also not American, it's pretty egocentric to assume the entire world will recognize every image considered iconic to you. Other countries have their own historical disasters

Who fucking cares.

Thanks for letting us know you don't think men and women should be equals.

You did catch the international bit, yes? Living as an expat, I've discovered you really can't take for granted what (even incredibly intelligent) people do and do know about events around the globe. As a Canadian, I have heard of the disaster even though I was at the ripe old age of 1 when it occurred. However, I

They say it's an international employee as well, which explains it more. Also, millennials still know about history, but you have to remember as more time goes on and more and more events pile up, things that were a BIG deal at the time often become a blip on the historical radar later, and niche history for people

Why does Jezebel hate Millennials so much? It's ridiculous.

Its little tail!!

oh goats, the golden retrievers of the ungulates.

Now playing

Oh no, Isha! The Dolly Parton BBC link goes to the People article about Khloe Kardashian.

Man... I love goats.

Sigourney Weaver cracks me up. I sometimes get that attitude from the "mommies" who pity me because I never wanted to have children. I frequently pity women whose children I have met and think, holy cow, why did you bother?

Exactly. And if Katharine Hepburn were alive and passing judgment on Sigourney's choices - "She might have had a beautiful daughter, but she never go to know what it means to be an Academy Award winner. I find that very sad" - I'm sure Ms. Weaver would tell her to mind her own damn business.

Yeah ... it'd be one thing if Katherine Hepburn had talked about how she regretted not having children. If someone wants kids and it doesn't work out, sure, that's sad, though not a failure. And since women often have to choose between children and a career, it's understandable that Weaver's choice to procreate felt

Did you even read up on this case? They used her name throughout nearly all of the book and didn't reveal it was someone who "just" looked like her until nearly the end of the book. Please. The guy writing the book knew what he was doing. Just because she's a celebrity and he's not, it doesn't mean he's innocent.

I kind of feel like it's us, though, too, right? The people who read the tabloids are the ones who need someone to judge to escape their own miserable lives. She's slamming the media's insatiable thirst for ratings & numbers in the sentence right before that, so the next thought is, it's the audience for those fake

Ugh.

I just lost some respect for Sigourney Weaver. I can't stand people who judge and pity those of us that are not parents. Parenthood is not for everyone folks! And judging and pitying those of us who do not reproduce is obnoxious and rude. We are not failures in life for not breeding.
