i have posted this video before, but if i want an electric car i want something special... :D

in my area this seems like the cheapest but only semi-legit, is a VW polo, 750€. runs but the seller says nothing about the inspection, so it would not be legal until it is inspected and everything fixed to standard. so a bit ehhhhh...

not in france, neither giant pickup truck nor SUVs are very popular here. they’re impossible to drive, maneuver, and park. if i see an american style truck/SUV, they look huge and difficult to maneuver on these small roads and tiny parking spaces. they’re generally car-cars driven here, or vans/utility trucks. approxim

at least in france, they make the distinction between nudism and naturism. nudism is for adults, naturism is all inclusive and family oriented. those two lifestyles are worlds apart too.

came here looking for that and the original scene... :D

when i make hawiian pizza i make it with crispy pancetta and caramalised pineapple rings. it’s good! i swear it! :D

Nice is pretty good now. they’ve been adding more tram lines as well as their bus system is pretty good. they’ve also be reducing lanes and making it better for traffic while at it. when i first moved to the area, they had terrible lanes on the promenade d’anglais, next to the sea, with 5 narrow lanes. apparently to

because McPlant is a terrible name. that may appeal to vegetarians, etc, but if you want to convince people to make the switch it needs a better name. if you want to convince non-vegetarian people from beef burgers to a plant based, they do not want to be reminded that they are eating what is essentially fake beef.

is there something wrong with kinja? that the other sites, like gizmodo and jalopnik have not been updating since monday? federal holiday? strike?

back to the future and the delorean? :D

well, they cost about €9000. you can lease one for 4 years, €3000 down and €19 a month. they do not require a drivers license. they are limited to 50 KM/H and about 100km. they’re perfect for high school kids or getting around the local village. it a niche car, but it’s a good one.

and here i am playing a 20 year old MMORPG game, that was cancelled 12(?) years ago, and is now hosted for free on a “rogue” server, and i have put in 100s if not 1000s of hours in the past 2 years that it has been up. i put several 1000s of hours while it was still live. I have not even begun to fully plumb the

ha ha, yes that is a good metaphor, because i remember riding in taxis and auto-rickshaws in india. except that accidents can and would often happen, often catastrophically.

why do i get the feeling that EM is betting on the same kind of argument of “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” putting all the responsibility on the driver for selecting a mode that may or may not endanger others? that it would not be the manufacturer’s fault, because the driver signed the contract and was

this is pretty funny, because my SO was doing exactly this, since an unexpected relative is coming to christmas dinner tomorrow night and she was desperately searching for a last minute gift. she even tried the local produce stand, for something, anything. no such luck. :D

you generally use the word retard as in “je suis en retard” which is to say, “i am delayed.”

I see these occasionally, since I live near St Tropez. The last one that I memorably saw was on one of the back roads between Hyères and St Tropez. The best road is along the sea, but you are frequently caught behind slower traffic. The quickest cuts through the hills, with the road being in parts extremely winding,
